We believe sustainable design should promote holistic and unique solutions that are socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable. At Neighboring Concepts, we collectively support the belief that sustainable design is “smart design”. We inherently seek opportunities and strive to create healthy structures and surroundings for our clients and we use ‘smart design’ strategies that best utilize and protect our most valued resources, whether environmental, social or economic. Smart design is as much a part of who we are as it is what we do.
As members of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Building Certification Program, our professionals remain in tune with the technology and ongoing innovation of sustainable design practices. We work closely with our clients to analyze capital and life-cycle costing objectives and stress the importance of implementing smart design at the beginning of a project to reduce incremental costs.
