Allison Menius

Designer & Intern Architect I
I see architecture as a catalyst for other things. It is about making a place that facilitates the daily lives of people. The most important quality an architect can have is being able to listen and understand what people hope, want, and need.

Allison Menius is a designer on the Neighboring Concepts Team. Originally from Raleigh, she graduated from NC State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Minor in Spanish. She has experience with nonprofit work and a variety and public projects, including parks and recreation, higher education, and nature learning facilities.

During her time at NC State, she studied abroad in the Czech Republic and in Guatemala, developing a passion and ability to design in different cultural contexts. She also helped to found an organization that provides design/build services to those with mental disabilities. She believes that design has a place in the lives of everyone.

If I weren’t a designer at Neighboring Concepts I’d be…
a yoga instructor.
