As part of the CATS LYNX Blue Line Extension project, Neighboring Concepts completed the design of the University City Boulevard Parking Garage. The building will conveniently sit just south of University City Boulevard along N. Tryon Street in the University Area. The 6 story facility will accommodate 1,500 parking spaces and feature 13,000 square feet of street level retail along N. Tryon. The design of the building focuses on the pedestrian experience, while providing efficient parking configuration and an effective way finding signage system. The structural system is a pre-cast structure accented by brick and glass featuring light-filled curtain walls on the stair towers. In addition, the light rail alignment is reflected on top of perforated metal panels, then rotated and mirrored, providing a playful relief from the repeating structure they sit within.
